Buddhism doesn't deny the existance of heavenly being that can help us. Infact we should be grateful then convinced Buddha not to go into Nirvana straight away upon his enlightenment.
There is logic and practicality in hope, positivity, compassion and many of the tenants of major religions. These values benefit us and others. They don't have to come from a book or the words of a prophet.

Trusting a dogma and accepting it i.e. no frustration and no investigation?
Motivating your life and responsibility by the fear of bad karma or god’s punishment?
Not asking important questions because they have been answered in your religious books?
