WHICH ELEMENT DO YOU HARNESS THE POWER OF TO DEFEAT DEMONS?

edited April 2011 in General Banter
I use water in a canon like form and fire flames. To warm. What elemental powers do you train with?

Yes, and water element healing on the body is good, cleans the liver and kidneys, general places where demonic type energies enter the body.

Oh nothing better than nice crisp water. Also air... Imagine a gust of wind blowing past you and visualize the blackness being caught up an whisked away. That helped me.

LOL!! Existents do not depend upon your belief in them to still be. Rational thought examined through contemplation and meditation will take one deeper than 5 sense perception.

    I train with troll spray.

Flames are good. Very purifying. Sprayed water cleans the energy field. Falling water = negative ions. The negative ions clean the energy field and energize the body. (That's why people feel so good after a rainshower, or at the beach if there's crashing surf. The air is full of negative ions.)

Huh? Negative ions of what (H2O? OH-?)? So where do the protons go? O.o

This sounds like chasing at shadows with fly swatters, an extension of eternalism. Consider having a cup of tea with these 'demons'... one might find they have been throwing watery or fiery thoughts at the cup, or the tea, or the hand... then staring in amazement as the 'demons' have somehow burned the cup, the tea, or the hand.

Our habituations are not composed of any matter, have a different intelligence, or have an external impetus. What I notice is that when we use fire to cleanse the stream, we actually just implant fire. Much like we cannot win a war with our karma by raising arms, we just implant war.

I use my own willpower and my own, let's say, tolerance.

The protons don't affect the energy field.

The negative ion is an dioxygen molecule with an extra electron according to what I found on the web. (di)Oxygen has 2 unpaired electrons in its outer shell. That lowers the energy to capture an electron.

Water in contrast is bonded to two hydrogen atoms in the places where those 'post' unpaired electrons are. The hyrdrogen atoms come packed with their own electron (atomic number 1). The Oxygen is surrounded by 8 paired electrons which fulfills the octet rule.

Therefore when the electrons arc through the ether they react more easily with oxygen than water.

I suspect that O2- may react with water and ultimately produce ozone and hyrdrogen gas.
  • It's dueling chemistry quotes! You never know where digressions on a Buddhist forum are going to take you! :)

"In nature, negative ions are generally produced by radioactive rays in the atmosphere, photosynthesis, or cohesion and dispersion of moisture related to the formation of rain. Negative ions are present near ... plants, waterfalls and streams where the water breaks into foam, and in the atmosphere after rainfall."

  • I'm telling you octet rule.. No I am kidding. I wonder how the water in foam reacts chemically? Air comes into greater contact with water at that time.
  • Water molecules have 2 pairs of electrons which are not involved in the bonding between the oxygen and hydrogen atoms. Maybe they are involved in the ionization process. I don't know. My chemistry's very rusty.
  • I don't believe in demons, but if I did and I had to get rid of one, I'd ask Federica's advice.

"If a particle has an extra electron, it's a negative ion, while if it lacks an electron, it's a positive ion." No info on the chemistry of how these are produced, though. My guess is that when H20 fall, it's structure is altered, and somehow an extra electron is generated. How plants produce negative ions, I can't begin to guess.

    Fun Facts About Negative Ions:

"In the former Soviet Union, negative ions were used to improve the performance of Olympic athletes. They were trained in rooms equipped with negative ion generators, and their performance improved greatly."

"Negative ions separate the red blood cells from each other, and promote good blood circulation."

There are practices in Tibetan Buddhism. I have assisted my Guru in removing what we now call 'poltergeists' using a Gelugpa rutual. It was successful.

All we need is Compassion for all the beings involved in the problem - in whatever realm.

Reading aloud the Heart Sutra is also effective, he told me.

A mind filled with Compassion cannot be harmed by demons or other obstructions.

Your reasons for believing that? And why don't they anymore then? Sources?

Really, i just don't understand anything about this thread anymore.

    Oh, energy fields. ... . ?!?!?!

Sometimes half the fun is in the digressions. ;) The source was provided in an earlier post. We don't know that they have discontinued this practice.
Ask any physicist about the earth's and living beings' electromagnetic fields.
It's a thread about demons. What did you expect? :D
  • The negative ion is on oxygen with an electron. Water has a full octet. I have a masters in chemistry. Dioxygen molecule is very electronegative meaning it attracts electrons. That is why it is involved in respiration. It is the end pull of the electron transport chain which manufactures ATP from ADP.

I think a more pressing problem would be to ask why Demons doesn't rhyme with lemons....

Right, but how does this explain why the air gets negatively ionized after rain, or at waterfalls or the beach, or in the shower? You're our resident expert, Jeffrey, you gotta pull the bunny out of the hat.

Negative ions and flames are small potatoes. If you have serious demon issues, you need to bring out the heavy artillery. See your local acupuncturist and ask for the Taoist exorcism treatment, or find a shaman. And don't tell me shamans aren't Buddhistic; TB is full of shamanic elements. (See Yeshe's post above, for one example.)
  • compassionate warrior..

Well it seems like the water and mixing with air is whats going on. I wonder if there is some singlet oxygen (as opposed to triplet) which would have the two unpaired electrons as paired. This pairing opens a space in the in the Lowest Unoccupied Molecular orbital or lowers the energy needed to approach that orbital with another electron in a bonding fashion.

I cannot predict what molecules, the identities would be for the negative ions. But singlet oxygen seems to be the most reactive thing. And this is all a guess.
