when new to buddhism wich of the sutras wold you recomend i start reading ?

I would say:

The Dhammapada, in all of its translation.
The Kalama Suttra, in all of its interpretations.

And the Last Days of The Buddha (MP Suttra)



The Dhammapada is the key IMO. (It isn't very "pushed" by the orthodoxy, I guess when we read it we can see why this is.)

I would suggest you start reading The Word of The Buddha by Nyantiloka, who was as far as I know one of the first Westeners ever to be a (Therevada) Buddhist monk. It has a systematic arrangement of (parts of) some of the most important suttas and includes some short commentaries.
