great feeling

while watching a documentary about the life of the great Buddha I started to think about all aspects of life and had an overwhelming feeling of joy and unity with every part of earth. I felt like I had an idea of what he felt when he found his way under the bodhi tree while meditating. I can only hope to meditate and try to experience this feeling as much as I can. Has anyone else felt the same way I have or something close to it?

Its not uncommon when people are new to Buddhism to have some previous life karma ripen into a profound experience. I had one and several others I've talked to have. They're useful to help us realize whats possible but it generally takes more work than the first time to get back to that same experience.
