    Just about any set of facts can be spun to make them say what someone wants. In science facts and information are the low man on the totem pole, interpretation is king. This is why lineage is seen as so important in Buddhism, written teachings are easy to pass on, transmission and explanation from someone who has been explained the proper meaning and deeply understands it is what ensures proper understanding continues over time.
