Buddhism and Childbirth

Hi everyone,

Not so long ago I asked for advice on coping with labour using my buddhist practice.
I am so glad that I did, and want to thank everyone for their advice!!! I remembered parts of it between contractions and it kept me focused.

I did not use any visualisations to take me somewhere else, I stayed mindful and present but accepting and at peace with the process. Not resisting, nor thinking of the future or the past. I was able to have a completely natural birth in peace and mindfulness.

It was an amazing experience, and really showed me how powerful mindfulness is and the buddhism basics. I am excited to continue with my learning and look forward to having another childbirth like that in the future!

Thank you again everyone!

Congrats on the experience and the Babyberry. Remember that mindful practice if your mouth gets poop sprayed in it at 4am! :)

Think of the population before you do that.

Quite blunt, but I think that might be a valid point.....
Out of a poll conducted in 57 countries, the one worry that stood out most regarding the future of this planet, was over-population.

But this is raining on your parade.

I'm truly delighted you had the fruitful and wonderful experience you did, during your labour. May such composure and serenity continue and influence your moments with your child, in every positive and constructive way.

parenthood is the hardest job in the world.
Be well. Be happy, and above all, be in the moment!
