Graffiti and Vandalism, what can be done?
Comments
I am pretty sure there is no "code of honor" in Los Angeles when it comes to what is tagged and what is not tagged lol. Believe me when I say nothing is off limits. They will tag anything that they think they have enough time to spray and get away with. Everywhere you make a full 360 turn in L.A. you could spot graffiti somewhere. When you enter Los Angeles, the actual welcome to Los Angeles sign is covered in graffiti.
I could name the parts of it where you won't see graffiti. They tend to be where the rich live. I take it the gangs would get arrested real quick to mess around those parts. So as much as commissioning a piece would sound good, I am sure they would just write over it.
Both involves wanting to express one's own views by direspecting other people's property and body.
That guy in Norway killed all those people because simply, he hates people that annoys him and thinks his point of view is correct... applies to Griffti artists and vigilanti wannabes.
So violence is useful sometimes. It is a natural part of our society, and is necessary when it is used properly. The guy in Norway killed those people in hate, without sense, in cold blood. But if a guy like that went to Mexico and killed dozens of the drug cartel in the same way. Even if he was a vigilante he would be hailed as a hero and a saint. Mexico is a hell on Earth right now due to criminals like the ones that keep vandalizing this mans truck.
That is where they started, and now they do much worse.
Your only using Buddhism as escapism and a aid to further your own self-fish goals, of course you still harm yourself and others with your greed, anger and ignorance.
Don't get upset though, because I am still doing the same thing! You and me are no more special than anybody else, and our problems are no different to anybody else.
