    There is no indication that those workers are slaves.

    Many are not and choose to be in the profession. But while I lived there, there were quite a few instances where women -- often underage and with HIV/AIDS were freed after being locked in out-of-the-way brothels for many months. They were often from Burma, lured to "good jobs", and then locked away, often servicing many men each day, usually foreigners. When you are locked away and given no choice, that's pretty close to slavery.
