Sorry sir , as I write post here I am learning . In my awareness there will never be a best book in Buddhism , infact in Buddhism is impossible to written down awareness as awareness of oneself is continue changing and on-going moving process .
Let say a great teacher write a book on Buddhism today based on his awareness today and publish it and you bought it and read . Perhaps after 2 month . he learn that some of his awareness had changed and he moved to his new awareness but what about his book ? or those who read his book ? His book is outdated , mis-leading even to him....and it can mis-lead you and your process of learning too ......
We can writen books on cooking , sports or even sex but not in Buddhism .

    Ditto those.

  • Thich Nhat Hanh's "Transformation and Healing: Sutra on the Four Establishments of Mindfulness" was a top notch read for me! :)
