Radical Acceptance
We struggle in life because of a tenacious habit of wanting life to be different from what it is: The room you are in is too warm, you don’t like your job, or your partner isn’t quite the person of your dreams. You adjust the thermostat, get a new job, or tell your partner what you need. Now it’s too cool, you are earning less money, or your partner has found some flaws in you. The more we try to make life conform to our desires, the more we struggle, and the more we suffer. The only way out of this vicious cycle is to accept what arises, completely: in other words, do nothing.
Paradoxically, such radical acceptance opens a way of living that we could hardly have imagined.

And I'd forgotten how much I love the poetry of TS Eliot.
I try to live my everyday with "no resistance" but I fail everyday.
Don't resist what comes to your way. Resistance is rejecting the natural experience and wanting the experience to be our own way. Then it creates suffering.
I resist because I have expectations. Count how many expectation you manifest in one day, I tried and it is overwhelming.
Expecting to wake up in time, expecting to not stuck in traffic,expecting to have your breakfast and coffee, expecting to do a good presentation, expecting to get attention from the cute girls you see on the street, expecting to be a good person, expecting to be acknowledged, expecting to have a sunny day, the list is as long as how many breathes you take in and out.
If you want to do "nothing" then don't have any expectations. Each action becomes pure when we accept things the way they are.
Expectation is a prediction of next from last...Last experience I did this and it gave me pleasure or security and so I shall do it again next...
Thats called "learning" - is no different than pattern recognition!
We are pattern matchmakers...
If the patterns match, we enjoy it, if the patterns don't match we dislike it.
As long these "enjoying" and "disliking" feelings exists then we have no escape!
Then we should understand the true nature of our feelings and truly realize its emptiness. After then only we can stop expecting things in certain way and then truly we can accept things the way they are...This is "doing nothing".
Like a tree...imagine how many birds, insects, and humans benefit from a tree. Tree doesn't have any expectations and do not resist to its true nature. All it does is to benefit others and noting else. Wanna be still as tree then drop the emotions...
