Accidentally cracked a wall in my house

edited September 2011 in General Banter
Im trying to decide how to deal with the situation i just put myself in. About a half hour ago I was attempting to do a handstand next on a wall in my family's house (im 16) but i lost my balance and made a small dent in the wall (noticeable, but definitely easily repairable). In a couple hours my parents will be home and I will have to explain to them how it happened- I cant decide if I should tell them that it broke from me doing the handstand (i just started taking a gymnastics course and am afraid they will make me stop if they find out that was why i dented the wall) or if i should just tell them i hit against the wall in some other way, like that i tripped while carrying food. Any suggestions? =/

  • Truth. Handstand. Parents would understand.

Would they really make you stop taking gymastics because of an accident? Maybe if you put a foot through the new 50' plasma TV or something but if its just a small repairable dent in the wall I think I'd recommend the truth. You could also apologize and take responsibility for repairing it and say you'll be more careful in the future.
  • First, the truth is your only real option. Second, how did it work out? Third, make sure you repair the dent since you made it, no matter what your parents said. That's being responsible.

It at least shows how keen you are with your interest :-D and that's surely a good thing, which hopefully they will recognise, despite the accident.
  • Hmm, truth definitly ( I am the parent of teens) and then offer what you can do to avoid more bumps in the wall. That shows you are thinking,
  • It worked out and was very easy to fix, thank you all for the advice =)
