Made my own Buddha pendant

edited December 2011 in General Banter
I made my own Buddha pendant. This design i made myself. I am wondering what people on this forum think about it. Is it something i can do from a buddist perspective ? I don't want to advertise, but i'm only curious about your opinion...
Please have a look at it and share your thoughts about it !

I like it. I view making anything inspired by Buddhism as a celebration and joyful, be it a pendant, painting, sculpture, piece of furniture, poem, book, song, card (you get the drift!).
  • Thank u for your comment ! I posted on this forum, because i like to know if people will like it. Im planning to make more design juwelry on this 'subject'
  • Love it! Would love to learn silver-smithing. Someday.

I like the design. I believe in traditional buddhist art they use specific dimensions for the face and body (distance between the eyes, height of the eyes from the mouth, etc.) So if you plan to make more maybe you'd like to find out those? Not sure that it matters but just an idea.
  • beautiful. I think as long as you don't do something intentionally disrespectful like posing buddha with double middle fingers or something that it is fine from a buddhist perspective.
  • Thanks everyone for your replies ! I really appreciate your positive thoughts about it ! Nice to read in other post about Buddism, i don't consider myself religious, but buddism is closest to myself....
    Thanks again !
  • Wow, that looks like it took some effort, skill and time. I would buy it at the right price. I would prefer a different material for the necklace though. Saying that, when you buy something hand-made by one person, you know it is unique as each one will be slightly different. That gives it a quality to it also. Good job
  • Thanks Tom ! For the necklace you can use anything, because wenn you buy, you only get the Buddha, not the string. On this site the designs/juwelry are 3d printed....soo you can chose your own material, like stainless steal (optional with a different finishing) or you can even 3d print it in silver.
thanks for your reaction, it's nice to read from people that they like the design.....very positive !
