Buddha, do you swim?

“As an irrigator guides water to his fields, as an archer aims an arrow, as a carpenter carves wood, the wise shape their lives.” ~ Buddha Quotes from The Dhammapada

I have had wonderful experiences with water meditation. Spiritual baths, flower washes, aqua yoga, hot spring insight, the list can go on.

My best one?

My father and I canoed out to the middle of Lake Tahoe. (please look up pics)
It was September. We floated on our backs for what seemed like hours. Said nothing.
At first, the eye candy alone...kept my eyes open.

But....When the exhale breath took over! Well...we know.

It was hard to see those moments become impermanent, I will admit.

Anyone want to share meditation experiences with water?

  • I can definitely relate to meditation moments canoeing on Lake Tahoe!! That's where I first discovered canoes, as a kid. Just sitting in the canoe, even on dry land, induced meditation. There's something about a canoe, it's like entering sacred space.

Flotation can induce altered states of consciousness. There are businesses here and there that operate flotation tanks for that purpose.

    Lacking a canoe
Qigong in the park, in the kitchen, in the living room
Gliding and swimming and meditating through air
