Weird Christian Religious Dream

edited January 2012 in General Banter
I had a dream a couple of days ago:

I was in my living room and I threw my remote control on the ground and said, "Haha, if God exists, let him move this remote across the room!" And then it whooshed across the room. I got a bit scared and said, "Okay... do it again?" And it whooshed back. Then I started thinking to myself, "What the hell? Is God real? If He is real... then if I ask him, with ____ happen?" And whatever I thought would happen, happened. Time froze. Gravity stopped. Loads of stuff started happening, every time I asked God to do it. I started freaking out thinking, "Oh my God, God is real!" I ran to a church with my mother and started telling a minister what was happening, and all he said was, "God is giving you signs." I asked how to stop everything from happening, and he just said he had to go. And then things started getting out of control and angels and demons and dragons started appearing, and everything felt so surreal and there was a feeling of awe and terror on me. My mother said, "I told you. I told you God was real!" Then I dropped into my mothers arms and looked up into the swirling vortex of ethereal creatures and started yelling, "I repent! I repent!"

I forget what else happened.

  • That's funny. Too bad you didn't ask God for a giant pot of gold and just stop there.

Sounds like maybe some old Christian fears bubbling up as well as some uneasiness about your own power maybe learnt from Buddhism.

Sounds like quite a ride, all I can look at is the words. To help yourself to understand any meaning better try to remember how the dream made you feel.

Yes, I agree with what person said that maybe it is some left overs that have yet to escape your subconscious of the christian kind. I believe that a lot of the time dreams should be looked at it because I think they are often issues or things you have going on within your mind which are operating at a subconscious level.
You should have asked God to appear before your eyes to see what he/she looks like. That would have been interesting.

Try getting him to do it in this reality...:)
Dreams are just Dreams most of the time if we've had trauma in the past it can reply in a strange variety of ways in our mind, Changing religious beliefs for instance is traumatic with all the christian fear of the lord and damnation to hell routinley pumped into you as a child you can expect it to reply in your mind if you are not practicing developing faith in the Buddha and his teachings.
  • Stop watching cheesy scary movies before bed .
  • Take a few children's benadryl before bed...you'll turn into a screamer.
