Strange sensations during meditation

I only meditate 10 mins in the morning and night, i try to practice mindfulness during the day in every day tasks. But i am fairly new to this.

Today i was focusing the rise and fall of the breath. I felt a layer of heaviness over that with an expanding feeling of what i can only describe as sacks?

I just watched it..i was not the feeling, infact i felt as detached from it as if someone had handed me a warm water balloon.

I think i was feeling the organs. Then i thought, "well, i guess i forgot that this body has lungs, intestines and a heart."

It was strange, and maybe only lasted for a minute but i have never felt my organs under chest cavity before...

I find it easier to focus on heartbeats instead of breath...this actually gives me a tingling pulsing sensation over most of my body.

Any thoughts, i think my meditation is improving.

Focusing on the heartbeat is fine. The breath is easier for most so thats what is usually recommended.
  • May i also say that it was spontanious...i wasn't trying to get anywhere.

I didnt understand what feeling the inner body meant...i wonder if that was what was going on.
