  • Way too early to make that prediction, the mud slinging really hasn't even started yet :)

Those are just based on approval numbers. In an actual election the alternative to Obama is an actual person (Romney or Gingrich) not just some nebulous Rebublican savior.

    Thank you for restoring hope.

  • Well the Westboro Baptist Church claims that Obama is the Anti-Christ and that there not be another president... soooo I guess something biblical will happen soon, or he is re-elected.

They better vote for him then. God's plan needs the antichrist to come to power first. So if they vote against him they are voting against God's plan.

I'm not willing to make any prediction. But as @person said, approval numbers are not the same as choosing between candidates. For example, somewhere I just saw today or yesterday numbers in head-to-head matchup in Ohio, and Obama was significantly ahead, whether the candidate was Gingritch or Romney. And in the survey mentioned above, it listed Ohio as red, where I would guess you would call it blue based on election prospects...at this point.
  • Agree with the above. Remember right now it's "Pres. Obama versus your favorite Republican candidate" during a time when Republicans have been in heavy spending campaign mode due to their primaries. Obama has barely begun to campaign.

There was actually a more disturbing article today on Politico: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0212/72329.html

Yeah, but look at the source. Politico. That rag is all about getting the big "scoop" and isn't taken seriously by any political pundit. This is typical Politico "doom and gloom" drek.

So the article says there's some magic unemployment number that means Pres Obama should just pack his bags. But let's see, just what has the trend been over the past quarter? Oh, unemployment is actually starting to ease? The same people who claimed Pres Obama never had a chance of being elected president now claim there's a good chance he won't be reelected.

And their insistance that this is a bad time for Republicans, with the contenders sniping at each other, so Obama should be coasting on reflected popularity is just plain wrong. Republicans are energized right now due to the primary season under way. Sure, they are divided into little camps attacking each other's candidate. But, they are still united by hatred of that "socialist, muslim, non-citizen, traiter Obama!"
  • This is a little off topic, but why did Glenn Beck leave fox news? I heard that he was heading for Jerusalem or something 0_o

Actually its America hating christian and secret muslim :hrm:
  • This may seem from left field, but an editorial today says the race is going to be about...well, race. Apparently Newt Gingrich has been making both overt and coded racial statements, like black schoolkids should work as janitors in their schools to keep them away from drugs, Obama is the "food stamp President" (implied: giving freebies to minorities on White peoples' dimes), and so forth. I can't believe this guy is taken seriously, anyway. This country is getting strange. Or stranger.
