Strange sounds coming from the sky?

My Grandma told my family that the small town in Mexico she lives in has been hearing sounds from the sky and that now it's all over her local news. So I looked it up, and found this. She mentioned a passage from the bible that has to do with angels playing trumpets as a warning. They tend to be very superstitious over there, so it's something they all take seriously. But either way I thought it was really interesting stuff.

  • Hey, Mr. S! I've been waiting for you to drop one of your paranormal-experience threads on us! :) Is this the village that you posted last year had had some UFO sightings? Are there any military bases or weather stations anywhere in the general vicinity that could explain these phenomena? Can the mayor get someone from the state or federal gov't to come out and check it out?

    Hey Dakini,
Yes, this town my grandma lives at actually has tons of UFO and supernatural type phenomena. It's also the place where I had my very first paranormal encounter as an adult. It was my first paranormal encounter that really made me realize there is so much more to life, that modern science cannot yet explain.

There are no military bases there, not sure about weather stations. As this is a very small town she is from. Maybe a few thousand people at most or less than that. When something big happens, everyone knows. So the whole town is still a bit shaken up from the recent sounds.

These sounds coming from the sky have actually been happening all over the world. They seem to have started in January of this year, and have still been occurring. As my Grandma reported to us last night over the phone. Here is another video of the same type of phenomena that happened in Canada.

Wow, hm, strange! Who are those guys, some kind of ski patrol? They look official.
I just had a thought. Weren't there some predictions for a year of very serious solar storms? I've never heard of those producing sounds, but they do disrupt cell phone use and other technology, and there are visual effects.

Very true, there's so much more to life than meets the eye, isn't there?

    Lol! Nice!
  • Wat.

In all seriousness, that's scary. Really.

Shit. Better convert to something to save my soul. I don't know which religion to convert to, though. Islam? Christianity? Zoroastrianism?

Now, if I were any bunch of aliens inclined to make eerie sounds, I might pick some really remote locations, like the mountains in Canada, the Australian outback, Siberia. Maybe somewhere out in the middle of the Pacific. I wonder if any more of these have been recorded.

There's a really hilarious alien encounter story in a book by a physicist who won the Nobel Prize. He had a vacation place in a remote mountain area in Northern California, and encountered a strange figure that he took for a raccoon. The next thing he knew, it was the next day, he was lying out in a field on his large property, and remembered nothing between the encounter with the odd little being and the moment when he came to consciousness the next day. It seriously freaked him out. It's a great book, about his experience winning the Prize (completely unexpected. Local news headline: "Surfer wins Nobel Prize", he was a surfer), and his thoughts on a variety of subjects. "Dancing Naked in the Mind Field" is the title.

@Bekenze Zoroastrianism might be cool. Or Manicheism.

This shows people are copying the same sound track and making their own video...

    Sounds like
  • Anyways, how could this be a hoax (although I'm sure some of the videos are) if clearly people ARE hearing it in real life?

That movie was under-rated. Spielberg can create great moments, even in so so films, and the sense of menace and alien mystery he creates when those tripods first stand, piss on the earth(!?), and bellow... is remarkable. There is also a really well done scene when a speeding train engulfed in fire roars through a crossing..

Sorry.. not the film thread.. :D

This is a mix of some genuine events happening to real people, with others starting to make their own hoaxes out of it for their own benefit. As always with the paranormal, there is truth to some of it, but then it begins to become deluded by those who want to be part of it, but have not been able to, so they create a hoax.

This. Not discounting it. But some discernment is good. :)

  • @RichardH I'm agreeing with you, I enjoyed that flick... the sounds they used in the attacks were very effective in striking fear

I'm convinced this is all viral marketing for an upcoming movie.
  • I've heard that suggested, too, Brian. Intriguing idea.
  • I mean, within the context of the technological differences of the eras, it's not dissimilar to the War Of The Worlds campaign in the 50s which terrified people.
  • I made that last video, by the way, just for shits and giggles.

if you can find one of them that isn't a hoax, that would be nice so we can focus on it, but i think it will be difficult to find.

this guy do a great job of debunking the most popular ones:
