Day Meditation..?

Dear all ^_^

I used to be able to meditate very well, even while out and about, by focussing on 'Aum' mantra / sound. I lead a busy life, and would like to be able to meditate (keep out fleeting thoughts) during the day, while working. Is there a good method of doing this / technique, for instance reciting a mantra. I have thought of counting breaths, but this might be a little distracting as my work is (boring!) but quite complex

I would truly value your comments,

Kindly. x

if you are sitting at a desk,

    https://www.google.ca/search?q=mandala&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=7F6&rlz=1R1GGHP_en___CA444&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=VuBoT9-MFcm1gwfeldCrCQ&ved=0CEQQsAQ&biw=1048&bih=541

pick one (one that has a circle in the center)
stare at the center for 5-10 minutes.

    enjoy!

(things get quite interesting and entertaining quickly)

as an alternative if you dont like the idea of staring at your monitor screen,
you can use just a black circle printed on a white sheet of paper.
  • Here is a great way to get rid of thoughts. Look for a thought as if youre on a witch hunt.

Now that isn't imho the purpose of meditation but if thats what you want then do that.
  • Can you perhaps incorporate some walking meditation in your daily life if sitting is difficult due to lack of time?

While working, focus on the task at hand. Be mindful. When you notice your thoughts wandering, bring them back to the task at hand. Just like in meditation, when you bring thoughts back to the breath or the mantra.

Or look for a peaceful place for your coffee break. You can do regular meditation then. Find an empty office or broom closet. Or a quiet area outside.
