googlemail already does this with emails....
i write to my mum regularly, and it picks certain 'trigger' words out of the emails and flashes adverts at the top of the mail box to grab your attention....
I remember asking my mother whether we still had that wicker picnic basket we had when i was a kid (turns out we do!) but i'd typed 'casket' instead... got seversl adverts from funeral homes.... !!

I guess people feel kind of violated with regards to their freedom and privacy, targeted even. Before when advertising was more subtle, people did not feel targeted because they did not understand how advertising targets people, unless you studied it at college like me. Now this shows that companies are tailoring advertising from person to person, it kind of leaves them feeling cheated in a sense I guess. Just a thought.

if it was all turned to paper, and landed on our doorstep, we'd be really pissed about it....
there seems to be no escape from materialism, commercials and the constant flow of unwanted information from all sides.... Oh for a bit of peace and quiet....!
