quote: anybody know how it went

Now I know I have read this somewhere, and I don't know how it exactly goes so I can't search it. I am sure it was either Buddha, or HHDL14 who said it, but it goes along the lines of:

Everyman shudders at death when faced it

or maybe

Everyman fears death when facing with it

it is along those kind of lines...any ideas?

I've had a couple of scary health issues this year (at age 62), and while I won't say I "faced death" yet, it sure got me thinking about it.

The closest I can find is this:
"Men fear death as children fear to go in the dark."

In The Dhamapada (Tr. P. Lal) that I have, there are a couple of lines that read,

    "All fear dying.
    All fear death."

@Lookingformyway I think it was HHDL as a child in the film: 7 Years In Tibet. All beings fear death. Life is precious to everyone.

    Something like that.
  • Thanks everyone for chipping in....However, Dak, this is where I heard it, and that's the quote! Thanks muchly!
