I just saw this picture appeared on my facebook home. But the caption written in thailand language. I don't understand. I'm having trouble finding news on google. Anyone know how it got there? Or is there anything that can translate the information in this link?

Yea it says the monk was walking along a canal road in Bangkok and got hit by a car. The road is according to the person posting, notorious for drink drivers. The monk was also head of the parish.

I used Google translate and got this (it's still difficult to read):

    Photobucket

If it's too small for you to read, use the zoom tool in your tool bar, but the gist seems to be that the Monk was hit by a drunk driver and the writer thinks the monk was killed while he was on his alms round.

I hope that's been some help, but this scene has probably been repeated thousands of times across the world just today.

    Samsara eh?

Thanks @ThailandTom. So sorry to hear that. :'(
I hope it will never happen again

@Tosh : I am very grateful for your efforts to help me. Thanks!
  • The driver was meant to have been drinking and they have fled the scene. It happened when they go out to receive their food daily early in the morning. That is tragic, I hope they catch the driver.

People around are obviously extremely distressed and shocked, and even the police officers look numb.
This is dreadfully sad, but as has been pointed out by Tosh, it's a situation that tragically occurs countless times each day....
I echo Tom. I hope they catch the driver, too....

Further edited title to indicate you are looking for a translation and not in immediate mortal peril. :p I expect "HELP ME PLEASE" discussions to be along the lines of "I'm adrift on a dingy with no phone service and this is the only site I could navigate to" :p

I just looked up on todays daily dharma post on another site and the topic was aging, sickness and death. It ended by saying, "Sickness is sickening! (Remember that it feels terrible and can strike anytime). Ageing is crippling! (Old age cripples body and mind bit by bit and this is a process that happens all the time) Death is deadly! (Life is a deadly disease we all die of!) One who lives without keeping them in mind is most likely to live a vain life, in vain."

Wohooooo! a more appropriate title. Thanks @Lincoln

@ThailandTom Totally agree! I've a true story about the death. I think it is very useful to tell. I will tell later :)
