    Oh good lord (rolling eyes)... Only one of the greatest big band composers/arrangers/leaders of the 1930s and 40s! Ever heard of "In the Mood"? "Little Brown Jug"? "A String of Pearls"? "Serenade in Blue"? "Pennsylvania Six Five Thousand"? "I've Got a Gal in Kalamazoo"?

    You need to get out more :)

    BTW, he spent a *lot* of time in the UK between 1942 and his death over the English Channel in 1944...

    I would say your education is sadly lacking.
