The first 60 pages of articles on my internet search on Scopolamine were all generated by this one documentry and all in 2012. Quite the media storm.

I think it is quite similar to Rohypnol.

In the film "The guns of Navarone" the Germans used it as a truth drug to extract information. That's the full extent of my knowledge on this subject. :p

Scopolamine used as an anesthetic is one of the most effective and non addictive medicinals known. But, in it's raw form, it's known as Burindanga; a date rape drug that has the victim, very complaint under it's influence, and no rememberance of time. It's been used by street gangs, here, and central america to kidnap kids (both male and female). On survalence camera's it shows a very compliant person walking out with the one who drugged them. Usually they wake up in another state, and discover they have been prostituted. The gang itself will take the teen to his/her brothers sisters school and tell them, that if she doesn't comply with being prostituted, they will just take their brother, sister, mother and put them out. Not a very good drug.
  • Scopolamine is not an anesthetic agent in any way. It is an anticholinergic drug from the bella donna family, just like atropine.
  • It is used *in* anesthesia. It is *not* an anesthetic drug. You'll have to trust me on this. I've trained in and performed anesthesia on animals and humans.
  • Is it synthetic?
