Chickens and Refuge

Hurricane Isaac is due to hit where I am tomorrow.

My mother and I had to bring our chickens indoors. The cage that they sleep in is on wheels so we just slid it on in. I can't stand them being cooped up (pun intended) so I gave them some yard time and figured I'd take some pics of their confusion. heheeheh

They are currently in refuge from the elements outdoors and the four cats that are quite curious about them.

In the first image you can see Dracula through the glass looking at them.

Its good to do it for them as often as you can its a compassionate way of imprinting the mind with seeds of Dharma so they shall take a very fortunate rebirth. OM MANI PADME HUM.

Ahh. I can't recall doing it for the chickens at the moment but I know I have loads for my two cats.

They've heard lam rim recitations out the wazoo.

I have a feeling they'll be well off later :D

They are further along the path than I am!

Thanks for the hilarious pictures - love the one of Dracula peering through the door! Good luck to you and your multi-specied family; hope you make it through safe and sound. I'll add my vote to @caz's that mantras are good for chickens, too. ;)

    :D

    You're welcome, thank you,

It seems the hurricane is moving farther away from us.

Going to miss us entirely. We have some dreary rain weather here now but that is likely all it will be.

I'll have to make sure to do some recitations for the birds though!
