Irrelevant conversations

Hello people of New Buddhist, without going into too many details, I have found myself to have rather meaningless conversations with my peers. As I always try to steer the subject towards a more enlightening theme, I find myself to be repetitive and somewhat boring... How can I overcome this desire to discuss the greatness of unity and the joy that can be found anywhere? I'm sorry if this isn't too precise, I am still 'spun' by the newly aquired state of consciousness, which I am nowhere near to master, yet forcefully absorbed into.

I think there are really 2 factors here -- you and the people with whom you associate.

I have had friends who are more into depth, and friends who are more shallow. I have had groups of friends who are more into depth, and groups of friends who are more shallow.

The trick was accepting each person or group for what they were, and, perhaps seeking out new friends or groups that would fit my needs.

Right speech is a profound manifestation and does not mean bombarding the unwilling with Dharma jabber. It is a practice of finding the higher or better component, within the speech of others and going there. Compassion is talking to the shallow as if Buddhas, without mentioning dharma and talking to Buddhas as if ordinary beings.
As I said to to the shallow and the Buddha only this morning; ''all mantras mean 'have a nice day'".

OM MANI PEME HUM (have a nice day)
