Calling all cat lovers...

For any other members London, UK based, this might be of interest:

Cat Cafes exist in other parts of the world, but to the best of my knowledge this is going to be the first one here in the UK. So far, the funding for Lady Dinah's is in place, and currently a suitable venue is being sought out. Hoping to be open May time, but this is yet to be confirmed.. it may take a while longer. I've been reading about it quite a bit, it seems like it is all being organised extremely efficiently, and with a very strong, and of course necessary emphasis on care for the cats that will be living in the cafe: http://ladydinahs.com/category/faq/

I think it will be great for people living here in London, a purrrfect (sorry, I couldn't help myself) way to unwind in this wonderful, but at times frantic and stressful city.

Now all I need is a Buddhist centre with cats :D

Enjoy!

    How wonderful

Sadly Tiger Temple is not all it seems

Many temples will not keep cats because they kill 'wantonly' - part of their nature.
However the last couple of Buddhist centres I visited had a cat . . .

I love cats, but my sinuses and allergies do not.

Thank you for the wiki link, @lobster @chela that is a shame. Can you not get mediations for cat allergies? Mind you, I'm guessing ppl probably don't want to have to take tablets all the time.

You can actually buy hypoallergenic cats, but that would mean not adopting one of thousands of cats needing a home!

Oh boy...I am unsure whether to tell my wife about this or not..she is a cat fanatic. :)

@Dandelion I had a cat years ago and I had to take allergy medication all the time, which didn't help all of the symptoms and make me feel like a zombie. I used to take Claritin, which didn't give me all the side affects, but I became immune to it after awhile. I did try to do the injections that are supposed to help you build up a tolerance, but my insurance changed and no longer covered them. It is a shame, because I didn't use to have allergies, and cats are great pets. :(
