Interesting how the third (modern) piece has tonguing involved in places, which is very uncharacteristic of the instrument.
Here is the most famous of gagaku pieces-- one of the oldest extant forms of Japanese music, which is a kind of orchestral music. The title, Etenraku roughly means "Music Brought from Heaven." And I think that the title is appropriate:
