It's one of my sincerest hopes in my lifetime that Iran becomes a free nation. I wouldn't mind seeing them return to the name Persia either. The country could use fewer Mullahs and more Cyrus the Greats.
Persia wasn't the original name of the Country. Iran was. as it is - it has its original name.
I have come to see that we attach too much significance to what a place is called, when we should attach far more significance to what the powers therein are capable of.
Many older Iranian people insist on calling their country of origin ' Persia '. Its indicates that they are aligning themselves with the pre-revolutionary culture..
