Jobs for Buddhists in life?

  • New here! Thank you for letting me be part of your group!

I don't know necessarily about jobs working with children. I am a daycare provider and sometimes this job is really disheartening. I honestly try to not be judgmental but sometimes it's really, really hard. I have children in my care every single day whose parents are at home and chose to send them to daycare instead of spending time with them. And children, being the receptive innately-intuned little beings that they are know this fact. They know their parents are at home and they are with me. And they are often very sad about the fact and express it both openly and sometimes through behaviour. The worst is when mom is on maternity leave (one year long) and the child comes every.....single....day.....for the whole time I am open fully understanding that mommy is home with the new baby. That child feels terribly displaced. I can feel it coming from them. And it's incredibly sad. So, yes, a job in childcare might be rewarding but it does not come without it's suffering as well. Sometimes I ask myself if I am contributing to the suffering of little people. If there was no daycare then perhaps some parents would be forced to spend time with their children and see how truly awesome they are.

How we face samsara, whether in a daycare or a monastery, is what gives life it's meaning.
Your ability to meet samsara with grace is where you offer everyone an alternative to the human condition's usual relationship to it.

Presenting love completely trumps that meagerhope that removing yourself & such love will force another to manufacturer it's replacement.

Buddhist are sappose to reframe from mental or physical abuse but many jobs such as being a lawyer, force it upon you. What jobs are perfect for buddhist.

Speaking only from my own experience, IT. Nothing quite forces you to evaluate and strengthen your patience and compassion than having to either construct reports or repair soft/hardware for others! :p

I transfer dharma talks on a volunteer basis. I feel good about it because I can type fast. It also has emblazoned certain talks in my brain because I go back over and over to catch mistakes.

    ^^^ guilty of bragging :)
