Natural flair

What do you think when someone has natural flair for something, for example artistic and creative abilities?

Can I develop to have it?

Do you think it is related to karma, some motivation to get better or just the fruit of repetitively doing something?

Neuroscience has determined that the fact of repeatedly doing an activity, does prepare the way for your proficiency in that domain.
A violinist who rehearses on his instrument several hours a day will play better his violin than one who plays just once a week.
Repetition creates grooves in your brain that allow for your whole body to memorize the activity you rehearse.

I don't know which particular domain you have in mind, but even self-confidence can be improved by autosuggestion, as in the Coué method, which consists in repeatedly introducing into your brain positive statements about yourself.

Other than that, some things seem to come more naturally to some people.
Some people simply seem to have that flair to dress well, to ingratiate themselves with others, to paint well, to decorate exquisitely...
I'm not sure I could turn into the next Anna Pavlova just by suddenly deciding to rehearse ballet five hours a day.
When you see a Federer or a Messi, they are naturals. We can't all be like that.
    Or maybe?

And just to add a wrinkle to this thread, karmic propensities, even when the world might see them as a potential skills, may not be in itself enough of a reason to develop them.

Sometimes, the path towards suffering's cessation involves allowing them remain undeveloped.

Youtube is rife with child prodigies who haven't been alive long enough to develop their virtuosi skills on musical instruments, visual arts, mathematics or literature.

I don't think we are all born 'equal' in this regard at all.

What is the proximal cause of a three year old that can play Rachmaninov? Not even an obsessive parent can create that. I couldn't have made my normal kids into geniuses. Something else is happening, and I'm guessing it will be explained by neuroscience soon.

I wonder how many of these kids have been through the fMRI to map their brains? Our equipment is too primitive right now, you have to be completely still, and kids can't hold still unless they are sedated which defeats the purpose (plus its not nice to sedate kids just to look at their brains).

If I do not look at their brains. Is sedation ok? Say after 2100 H?

    :D .

Checkout the four basis of power.

@DhammaDragon‌, I am thinking about creative cartoons which has signature look. :D I will invest a good amount of time, but just wonder if these abilities are related to any karma.

@Victorious‌, I will check that out. Thanks. Is it this?
