For those who want to learn/understand more about Buddhsits taking refuge in the Triple Gem. I found this lecture from Master Haitao (海濤法師-Master Haitao Introduction - http://www.lifetv.org.tw/master_E.htm) regarding this subject. The lecture talks about the meaning, benefits, etc of taking refuge in the Tripple Gems.
The Three Jewels or Tripple Gems are:
the Buddha;
the Dharma, the teachings;
the Sangha.
The lecture is Chinese with English translator.
The lecture took place at IT & B University in Medan, Indonesia with the university students and staffs. That day was on the Buddha's birthday, so Master Haitao also lectures on the meaning of bathing the baby Buddha ritual.
