    @lobster I have some experience with spiders. They come to visit me a lot when I sit in chairs. The other day one came down on his little thread. He sort of investigated me and my laptop. He was flying around in front of me, and I wished him the best, but thought he should move over to the corner over there. So I kept on sending my goodwill, and he somehow got the hint and moved over there. Could have just been my breathing that pushed him over, though.

    Spiders don't have wings however when travelling long distances they do what's called ballooning ...

    If what you saw had wings then you might have seen is a Crane fly (Insect=six legs with wings)

    ....which often is mistaken for the Daddy Long legs (spiders=eight legs no wings but can use ballooning)
