I need a really specialised expert to help this techno-doofus do something:
This laptop was given to us by my stepson, who has rather inconveniently (a) left himself on here as head Admin, and (b) forgotten the password to enable certain programs to be implemented or downloaded.
We have just purchased a printer, and it's remotely connected to the laptop via wi-fi which is rather snazzy, but the Manual talked me through the connection process, holding my hand and knowing I'm at idiot level.
however, there is some software I need to install in order for the printer to fully function - and of course, I need the Admin password.
I can't powerwash it because in order to activate a powerwash I - yes you guessed it - need to sanction the action - with the password.
Is there anyone here who could possibly give me a way to work round this issue?
My H has asked his son for the password, but he maintain s he has used so many different ones, that he can't remember which one he used for this laptop...
@Linc ? @Brian ...?
what can I do, if anything??

Or, you could just wipe out crappy Windows and install some Linux distro. Peppermint OS is an easy one to use and install: https://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=peppermint.
