Definitive and Provisional

I recall hearing that some teachings are provisional and some definitive, but I cannot recall the meaning. I'd say that a definitive teaching is how things are, but a provisional is how they are from a perspective?

Provisional teachings would be subject to change and could vary from perspective to perspective like what "enlightenment" is while definitive teachings would be the fundamentals like the 4NTs.

So I think you got it.

all teachings are from a perspective, that is provisional or tempered.
the definitive is closer to the unstated Absolute.
