What does "our House" look like to you?

and I can not wait till dinner tonight sounds wonderful........
I love "You've got a friend" What a great idea! I vote yes
I'm more than happy to help braid onions and sort garlic........I love doing this stuff.
I was wondering if any one would mind if I brought a couple of baby goats to stay for a bit in the spring......I promise to keep them out of the garden and they could help keep the weeds down.......I just love baby goats.......they are so cute...and you never know what they will do next.........I also promise to keep them from jumping on the table outside while we are eating.....they love to do those type of things while playing.
I love goat's milk and goat's cheese, so maybe we might get that eventually....
highly intelligent and playful, goats are.....and they can help pul the sledge when we go wood-gathering next winter.....
If you do the garlic, don't braid the heads too close to one another. It causes them to sprout prematurely. Keeps the air circulating. I might put some garlic heads in the smoker, for smoked garlic. And I'll prepare some of my famous garlic puree....
I've roasted fresh tsampa too, there's plenty in the cupboard, and there's freshly-made ghee in the fridge.
I know to be careful when braiding so that there is good air flow but I appreciate the reminder.........I noticed I had a few to close together..... thanks
I've brought some thread to help plait the onions and garlic - I find it helps with two - one to hold the end and the other one to twist so someone grab the other end with me and we'll get going.
Debs - you are welcome in my room any time, as is everyone else, and the goats .......... just don't touch the sewing machine .... it has a life of its own and tends to go a bit berserk.
And the wolves are kind ........ be nice to them and they will be nice to you. They are not a threat to the goats if you speak kindly to them.
Hey .......... I saved all the apple peel from the deer apples - would the goats like them?
In the meantime here's a little "You've got a Friend" for your listening pleasure while you wait...

He was lovely. Guitarist. Used to play this ... and we sang... oh how nice it was to be young and lovely.
And I agree with the song choice of "You've got a Friend". That's a great one. When I was in Wales I listened to my James Taylor Greatest Hits tape all the time. Love him.
Jer,
I can listen to Janis' version of "Summertime" over and over for an eternity. And I'll be blubbering right along with you when you put on "Who Wants to Live Forever" and "The Show Must Go On". Freddie Mercury was, in my humble opinion, the real King. The greatest showman that ever lived with the voice of all the heavenly hosts put together. It still burns my heart to think how under appreciated he was when he was alive. But I guess that's the common fate of the artistic genius; always one step ahead of everyone else.
And I've seen "Shaun of the Dead" 6 times! Hilarious movie!!
I'll bring my guitar too. I'd love to get in on the session if I may. I know a few Scottish Gaelic tunes if anyone's interested or we could do an acoustic version of "Freebird". I can play "Stairway..." too but I've never tried "Layla". Can anyone play that baby grand in the Lounge? This could get interesting.
Reading the descriptions of your bedrooms has got to be the most fun I've had in days and days. I can't even tell you how fascinating and totally enjoyable it is to hear all of your incredible ideas. It's so fun it actually feels like a guilty pleasure. Fantasy design is absolutely my number one favourite kind of entertainment in the world. I'm going to think about how I want my room for a little while so I can really milk the enjoyment out of it and then I'll tell you all about it.
You guys chose the most wonderful animals! I LOVE goats, Deb! In fact, I have a large, framed, brown charcoal drawing of a billy goat hanging on the wall right over my bed. It's big, about 4 feet across and 3 feet high, and was done by a great friend of my grandfather's.
Our neighbors down the way have goats (and lots of babies were born last spring) and my folks always slow down to a crawl when driving past so we can have a long look at them when they're out in the pasture. We ADORE goats! My dad had a billy goat when he was a kid. Kid...get it?
And the wolves! I don't think you could have chosen better companions, Knitwitch. I haven't been able to stop thinking about wolves since I was a teenager. I adore them so. Do you think I might be able to come have a quiet look? I'll try my very best not to disturb or do anything stupid. I can so easily see you with 2 or 3 wolves around you. It's such a perfect fit. Now there's an animal I would dearly love to talk with during that hour between Christmas Eve and Day. Can you imagine actually being able to talk to wolves? Can you imagine? (That's probably quite a silly question when it comes to some of you...:))
You know, I'm really floored by all of our shared sensibilities. I like to live as solitary a life as possible but I could live very, very happily with all of you. Especially because I can't cook.
(whispering ... and if you listen very carefully and sit very still, you never know, you might find that you can converse with them just as well as I can .... they are THOSE sort of wolves)
Wolf poop really stinks.
Actually I love wolves. Once someone with a pet wolf (a big one!) came to the temple to visit, and I took it on a walk around the stupa. Or I should say he took me for a walk around the stupa! He seemed to know exactly which way to go and and after 3 circumambulations, he headed away. Must have done it before.
Well, wolves were my totem in a previous life. Probably an old friend...

We had a neighbor a few years ago that had a hybrid wolf. I think that is how you say it. It was a cross between a Malamute sp? and a wolf. He was sooooo gorgeous! His name was Mika and he really was a sweet guy. They had taught him great manners so he was very well behaved. I had read that you can not trust a hybrid not to turn wild but I don't know if this is true. I felt bad that his mother was being held in captivity. The neighbors here still talk about him on occasion. He was an Awesome dog!
(I hope it's not tactless to ask..... )
They are doing fine.....They all seem to be healthy and happy. They love the cold weather....I don't.
I only have one female who doesn't seem to be able to get along with other females. I have moved her in with a male that is bigger than she is and she is doing better with him. She is the dominate one of course but if she gets in a mood and jumps him she can't hurt him at least. Not sure what to do about her bad behavior. I didn't get her until she was 5 years old. She and her sister have been raised together and she was always very dominate over her sister who I don't think has had a very nice life being treated so ugly but this female. I removed the quiet female and sent her to live with a dear friend and she is very happy now and has a wonderful home. But I still have this female here with her bad attitude. Everyone else seems to be living in harmony for the most part...But not Susie......Bless her heart..
More info than you wanted? lol got any thoughts? I could use a bit of advice on her. I'm thinking about finding her a home where she will be the only pet. Don't know if that is the best solution or not.
The Foyer is immense with mahogany bannisters. I haven't gotten much beyond the borders of this foyer, due to being greeted by so many interesting and delightful people. I hope soon to venture further into this well-kept, well-appointed house. But before I do I will remind myself that I'm just a visitor with no claims on anything. As such, I will strive always to be courteous and pleasant.
What other way should a guest at a party behave? I'll try to keep myself from getting drunk.
Sounds like a good plan for any guest.
There is no need for conversation. We are too cool for that
and besides, we all know how the others think.....

as soon as I saw those huge leather armchairs and the roaring fire I was pulled in. Then I saw the walls..all those books, shelves and shelves of well thumbed dusty books. I walked along trailing my fingers along the spines until I found 'the hunting of the Snark' and with a grin of recognition I took it down.
I walked across to the table and poured tea into the delicate china cup and nibbled on a oatmeal cookie from the plate.
I was lured back to the log fire and settled myself down , a dog curled up on the mat wagged his tail and rested his head on my feet.
I must have read for hours and maybe dozed off because when I looked up you had all wandered in and gathered around. People were perching on chair arms and kneeled up on the mat, we talked and laughed and drank hot soup from mugs until dark.
Well..I suppose tomorrow I had better look around the rest of the house :rolleyes:but I will just finish my book first..:winkc:
LOL Palzang!
Palzang
:winkc: I couldnt possibly say Palzang!
...Sorry.... was I not s'posed to say that?
....But Chamomile is so good for you!
And it makes the bottom field the restful place to be....
(What did you think I was talking about....?
How's you honey?
My honey is doing well. Cancer free and that is truly all that matters.
Thanks for asking.
Want to have a cup of tea and sit and chat for a bit?
SO good to see you!!
It's so fantastic to hear your husband's doing well. Blessings to you both and to your whole family.
I brought some flowers from the greenhouse up to your room. Fragrant flowers so your room will smell sweet, as sweet as you.
Blessings to you and your family also.
Namaste'
The room is imence, the domed ceiling is impossibly high and there is a huge oak tree growing from the middle of the room to the ceiling. Rabbits that I'm not allergic to hop around the room and a few deer nibble at the grass floor. There is a swimming pool at the back and a nice little pond too. My tropical fish swim about in the warm pond and my budgie soars through the huge space, free from her cage atlast! My two rabbits mix with the others and my Molly dog sleeps on the bed as she loved to. She has an endless amount of coffee, meat and chocolate at her disposal, but no calories so she stays perfectly healthy, her treats are now her meals! A family of red squirrels leap around a pine tree that's just outside the window. On warm days I open it and birds fly in and out to there hearts content. In spring we have some grey squirrels visit and we might get a nest of chicks. Our house also has a nice house pig and a small herd of sheep in the garden. Mountain hares hop across the lawn all the time. One of my walls is glass and you can see incredibly far. For winter there is a large open fire that the rabbits and Molly curl up in front off. I have a rug that is so incredibly comfortable you wouldn't imagine. Sometimes I meditate on it or read a book. One wall is a huge TV with all the best movies ever built into in. The other two walls are made of books, all the best books ever written and it has a constant hum of calming music does my room. The bed is a huge four poster thing that is so cosy you fall asleep the second you touch it. You have to be dragged out with force in the morning... Cinnamon candles burn calmly and fresh flowers are all around and wild flowers grow in abundance.
Love & Peace
Joe
What a damn fine, and incredibly cool room!
Tell you what, as you've just moved in, I'm giving you one of those huge, egg-shaped hanging chairs for you to suspend from a branch of your oak tree, so that you can pick any book you want from your incredible library, climb into your egg-chair, and read it in peace and quiet to your heart's content.
We normally have intercoms in the room, to call one another to meals, but I think I'll just make it sound like a wind-chime, so that it doesn't disturb the perfect peace - but you'll still know chow's up and it's hot on the table!!
Let me know when your novel comes out.
Say, do you two like apple pie?
Love & Peace
Joe
P.S. You'll get a signed copy Boo I gave up on my last one but I'm writing another one that's more mature and I've puposely weaving a bit of everything into it. It's about a multicultural, multireligious family that get into odd situations Comedy/romance/horror/fantasy/ski-fi sort of thing
I must join the ladies and say you have quite the imagination. Do you like writing stories? You may have a knack for it! If not, do what you enjoy and do it well.
Palzang
Jerbear, I love writing stories, as I say I'm writing one
You've got me thinking though...maybe I should try again....hmmm....
The Secret Book
Uncovering Secrets the Universe Never Wanted Us to Discover
What was your's called? Mine's about lots of stuff that us ignorant humans were totally unaware of. I've moved our species arrogance down because alot of humans believe we are the most deadly, intelligent, powerful creatures on the planet ofwhich is the only inhabited one in the universe. I believe in other inhabited planets but people don't.... Anyway, those people were very wrong, it goes by the rule; if you think your more something than anything else, it's only true if you trick another species into thinking that LOL It's a bit quirky but mainly imagination LOL
Peace, Joe
You should read a book called "Letters from the Earth" by Mark Twain. You'd like it. He refused to let it be published until after his death, which should give you a clue.
