Of all the places I could have learnt about 'space docking' and 'strawberry milkshakes' this was somehow the last place I thought would be it.....for some reason.
Though why, I really couldn't tell.....

Good a place as any, I suppose.
But it still doesn't mean the Dhamma is 'outdated'....

OK, now strawberry milkshakes have disturbed me...

I will never ever drink a strawberry milkshake (the normal kind- or the other kind for that matter) ever...

    *throws up every where*

Whilst I did not expect to read such things on a Buddhist chatsite, the Dhamma is the Dhamma, namely, the reality of human ignorance, defilment and, most of all, the unsatisfactory or unfulfilling nature of the sensual realm.

It seems an ordinary 'roll in the hay' does not satisfy some. This can only be expected.

Consent, willingness, lack of reluctance & so forth has little to do with right sexual conduct. I do not recall the Buddha ever teaching like this. I can consent to many very harmful behaviours.

In my view, where using sexuality does not lead to the development of Buddhist virtues, that is, more affection, true friendship, responsibility & compassion, it is, more or less, a form of misconduct.

    I think that's good advice.

I agree with Susie and Fivebells, on both the different things they said.

Know I'm going to escape before I google something else...:o:banghead:

Now there's a phrase for ya!

I revel in my wisdom and celebrate my control over curiosity!!

I didn't Google a thing and therefore remain in blissful ignorance. Ha!

Either masturbation is as insignificant as, say, picking one's nose or it is so vile as sexual misconduct that no one will even touch it.
    Extreme views there D.B.

For some people, they will 'burn up' if they get no relief.

But if you are on the 'hard core' meditative path, masturbation stirs up your inner energies and prevents deep sublime concentration bliss.
How can there be such varied opinion on the merits of various forms of sexual congress and nothing other than revulsion at an inquiry about autoeroticism's rank as sexual conduct?
Dangerous sex is sexual misconduct. That whatever he did killed him, possibly adds it to the list.

But then occassionally, horny old men die of heart-attacks whilst doing it with their wives.

    :)

This was a thread begun by a new member, in the Beginner's Forum.

Would posters please at least show some respect for the OP and refrain from childish banter, irrelevant chit-chat and baiting other members.
This thread has descended to a ludicrously trivial and off-topic level.
If you'd like to indulge in superficial talk, confine it to a thread of your making.
do not hijack threads, and keep it in the Lotus Lounge.

    Thank you.
