My first Sunday

edited May 2010 in Buddhism Basics
This is my first Sunday after spending the week educating, and talking to you guys and gals about Buddhism, and I know when my wife (Who really is my rock) wakes up she will ask what time we are going to church today. And I don't know if I should or if I want to go, or If I want to try meditating for the first time.

I feel bad, because I brought her to the church, and now she actually enjoys going, I don't want to abandon her, after bringing her to the church.

....

If it's important to her, then I say go to church. I went to a Greek Orthodox church a couple of weeks ago just for the hell of it and I didn't burst into flames or anything. I even scored some antidoron too. You can meditate anytime, anywhere.

nothing wrong with going to church.

Buddhism is a practice and is relatively compatible with most religions.
Just investigating, experiencing and learning about the nature of reality, which eventually free you from all suffering :)

Just use this time at church to practice present moment awareness meditation and enjoy the peace.
