When the nuns at the convent I used to attend as a schoolgirl had their habits changed to a more modern and hip look (!! ) one girl asked why this had been so. Sister Kathleen replied,
"Because we were dragging the hems along the ground. It was thought appropriate to help us nuns avoid getting dirty habits."

We girls all roared, and she honestly didn't have a clue why - !!

Ha ha ha hahaha Nirvana my dearest - the Neo Pagan one means that you are potentially a wonderful candidate for my old mob - Shall I dig you out one of my old broomsticks and a spare pointy hat? Never mind, you can join yer ole pal Mother Raven for a quiet hobble around the cauldron on the night of the full moon. I'm not surprised, there are a lot of similarities between the genuine basis of Wicca and Buddhism (apart from the Deities of course!)

    El-oh-el.
Neo-paganism (which means "New Paganism") is a fast growing collection of different generally polytheistic, earth-based religions all claiming to (and taking some of the teachings of) ancient pagan religions such as Goddess Worship, Germanic/Norse religions, and Druidism. They stress the importance of the earth in a somewhat animistic way. The most popular of these religions is Wicca, which I would describe as a blend of Goddess Worship, Druidism, and witchcraft, although not all Wiccans use witchcraft.

Christian Science is a Christian sect, teaching the efficacy of spiritual healing according to the interpretation of the Bible by Mary Baker Eddy along with mainstream Protestantism. It involves a belief in the possibility of healing wrong-doing deriving from humanity's sense of separation from God (encapsulated in the term "sin") and also of overcoming death itself (the result of sin). At the core of its teaching is the belief that illness is a result of religious beliefs that they consider fallacious. They also have the sense to not interpret everything in the bible literally.

    Hope I helped. :)

Good fun, though my disappointment at not seeing Buddhism come in first place suggests I'm more attached to labels than I would like to be.

I've thought about the Quakers before. I like the name of their church: "Society of Friends." And they always have cool anti-war signs outside their church.

    Buddhafoot,
You were 100% hedonistic Quaker Oats before, or in your own words: "1 Minute Universally Hedonistic Quaker Oats - 100%." You're getting better, more well-rounded, nicer, and a heck of a lot more interesting.

I just use it for a lesson - things are sometimes what they seem - and at other times... not.

Just think of being "logged in" as another sign of impermanence...
