My Altar

edited November 2010 in Sanghas
Attached are some pictures of my altar, which has grown to encompass a medium sized coffee table a small bamboo end table and some floor space as well as storage bin full of incense and candles in my closet. The first few pictures are before I moved the altar into my bedroom. I made the garland out of some twine and rododendron flowers, the candle I carved the chinese character for spring into and then filled it with yellow paint, since I only lit it for Saga Dawa Duchen (May 27th, 2010) I still have the candle for next year. The green headress is made out of rododendron leaves that I clipped from the flowers. The last few pictures are from after I moved the altar to my bedroom. The Buddha statue is now adorned with purple beads from a local event I attended a couple years ago, and a pictures of the Dalai Lama and Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche. At the foot of the table are offerings. To the side of the table is a smaller bamboo table where I store texts such as mantras and the Tibetan Book of the Dead.

Ja, in my experience on this board, when you post more than one attachment they are shown as attachments to be clicked on and opened. In this case I think it may be the case that there are just too many attachments posted in one post, so none can be opened.

Maybe edit your post and lessen the number, showing the rest in ensuing posts?

I know we'd like to see them!

Oops, didn't notice the August date of the posting. Me Bad! (Well, not entirely.)

    Thanks, NagpoChenpo!

I was totally unaware that they had special Target stores for spiritual seekers!

It's nice that you can make changes to your altar as desired. I grew up in a church where one of the main points of contention was over who had the right to alter the altar.

It's always nice to see other people's shrines.
