There was a time when I was really wowed by the connections that seemed to exist between and among religious teachings and experiences. Sometimes I wondered if a person in say, India, hadn't taught someone in Africa. The teachings/experiences seemed so similar that it was hard to imagine Jesus and Mohammad and Gautama and the Bal Shem Tov and Sri Ramakrishna and whoever all else didn't somehow get together for some great colloquium... despite all geographical and time-frame separations.
It really wowed me and I loved the line from the Vedas: "Truth is one, wise men call it by many names." Oooooeeeoooo!
But what did not occur to me so forcefully was to wonder and then investigate what, precisely, the truth might be. Who cares if truth is one if I am not willing to realize/actualize that truth ... if I neglect to step beyond the wow, beyond the intellectual and emotional collations ... and just find out for sure what that living truth was.
Just wondering here if you too have felt that wow and what you did about it.
Thanks.

Wow! from faith of Truth is one,
Wow! from discernment of Truth is one,
Wow! from performance of Truth is one, and most essentially
Wow! from assurance/attainment of Truth

Strange to say, but actualizing the truth and 50 cents will still only get you a cup of coffee ... if you're lucky.
What is truth or something worthy of being called truth, Freedom from mistaken appearances ands its many sufferings for oneself and others this is the noble goal.
The kingdom of heaven lays within not outside...;)
