How do you deal with feeling fed up and frustrated?

  • I figure out the source of the frustration and it often turns out to be too insignificant to really care about... at which point the frustration goes away.

  • just laugh at the world

What if the problem isn't the computer? What if someone pee'd in my cereal so I get mad. What do I do now?
  • Nah, its the computer.

That's simple - take it out to show someone or alternatively, you may write on the paper, and let the shredding machine do the work :rarr:

Get a fresh bowl of cereal?

Maybe the computer made the robot pee in your cereal?

Also, back to the topic, I aslo "deal" with the negative emotions and states of mind like being fed up and frustrated by recognizing them for what they are, as ShiftPlusOne said. However, I also "deal with them" by developing more positive states of mind instead - like at least attempting to maintain a sense of generosity, compassion, wisdom, etc.
  • Early in my marriage, my wife would say "ten more minutes and we are off." But it was never ten minutes, it was twenty or thirty. This annoyed and sometimes angered me until I learned to hear the phrase "ten minutes" as " sooner or later,I will be ready, now go do something productive with your waiting time." I began my waiting time in the early years by picking weeds in the garden but I now find any number of ways to fill the moments.
Another thing I have learned is to ask myself how I feel. "Check yourself before you wreck yourself" so to speak. This is a good lifelong habit. If you examine your feelings as a matter of course, you will have a powerful tool against worry.
Lastly, believe this: Nothing is a good as you hope or as bad as it seems. This is a 99% truth which functions well at least that amount of time.
These are all mechanical , nuts and bolts kind of actions which can lead to the lessoning of frustration and the like.

"Check yourself before you wreck yourself." - !! Damn, that's good! That's a quotable quotation if ever I heard one. Mark that one down for daily use!!!
  • When i find myself angry and frustrated, I try as hard as i can to not give the emotion power... of course it is mostly a futile battle, so afterwards I either meditate or go for a walk and let all emotion melt away.

Its important to find an activity that puts everything into perspective, especially emotions.

meditate for a few minutes, see that it's just anger and frustration or whatever and let the emotions dissolve away, otherwise you start creating illusory stories around the emotions and you do stupid stuff.. been there done that it ain't worth it just see them for what they are and let go.

The formation of hell is fed up and frustrated, it generates combustion and produces heats that can thaw the iceberg, and mess the environment. Fed up and frustration kills your loved ones :nyah: No sensible beings would want that to happen to their loved ones. And only Buddhism, can entirely feel for your loved ones, the ultimate love
