All the best to you.
Where as reincarnation is pure metaphysics, such as in the Bhagavad Gita, which states the soul cannot be cut because it simply finds a new body, therefore one should not be concerned about dying in war.
Kind regards
"Consensus" is for sheep rather than for Buddhist aspirants.
Please regard what the Buddha had to say.
All the best
@ hermitwin, some do, some don't.
You seem to be talking about "Tibetan" concepts rather than the Buddha's concepts.
The Buddha did not teach consciousness is reborn. The Buddha rebuked the Bhikkhu Sati heavily for asserting the Buddha taught this (see MN 38).
The Buddha taught beings are reborn according to the karma (actions). This is Buddhism.
Best wishes with your Tibetan religion
And Jason, best wishes with your Singalese Buddhaghosa Brahmin religion
Gimme the link.
Hermitwin, if you look up past threads on this topic, you'll find the relevant suttric quotes supporting all arguments. Feel free to share with us /after/ you've done the research. You'd be doing us a big favor, by sparing us further condescension and rudeness from DD. If the search function doesn't work, I'm told you can find those threads via Google. Good luck.
But the Tibetans teach about "reincarnation".
:sawed:
to know what other members think. Both out of curiosity and to reexamine my own interpretation.
There's your link. PLEASE let's not do this again...
Oh, and nice attempt at baiting me in a thread I'm not even participating in. -5 rep. +1 troll.
