a friend posted this video on fb the other day and i have to say, several days later, i'm still upset about it. the ignorance that leads someone to make such a thing is unfathomable. amidst all of the distress i feel regarding the earthquake/tsunamis in japan, this comes out of left field and simply astounds me.

having friends and family in japan, i feel extremely upset. i'm not sure what to do with my emotions. ugh.

    lol, i know... i guess i was hoping for a more positive reaction than the ones my friends gave me, which mostly involved anger and hatred. and i have to admit, i feel a great deal of that towards this misguided girl as well. i wish i could feel more understanding towards her, since i'm sure this is the result of some sort of religious brainwashing, but it's very difficult. i don't like to hate, but it's difficult to wish for someone's happiness when they gloat over other people's suffering.

    From what I heard, that was all satire, trying to make the Christians, who actually do hope for things like this to happen, feel bad.
