Depression so you can't think

JeffreyJeffrey Veteran
edited March 2011 in Buddhism Basics
I get stuck to a particular or given mood and when I decide or feel confused that would be depression. I get paranoid and just decide that everything is my fault. Angry at my mom for talking about the groceries, well at least I am eating and drinking NA beer. My digestion is more regular now.

But I don't remember those bright points and I feel hedged in.

Its really weird though, I had a soothing meditation and listened to some meditation ooops music that made me feel outreach wish.

Jeffrey - sorry to hear that, but the good news is that:

    * This happens to LOTS of people, so you're not alone

    * There are MANY great techniques and lifestyle changes that can help you.

If you haven't already, i really recommend seeing someone about it. A good consellor can really really help in these situations. Not only does it just feel good to talk and open up to someone, but they will have many practical tips that can really help you.

  • I think Daozen's advice is appropriate, Jeffrey. Please take good care of yourself.
  • But I always forget everything except that its a meeting when I am with my counselor.

Perhaps write down your thoughts and feelings each day, that way you'll remember when it comes to talking to a consellor?

It doesn't have to be a detailed description, just quick bullets is often enough to jog your memory later.

Hmmm I do this in the morning, but thanks for helping me make the correlation between self communication and finding words or ground. Thanks.
  • You may find The mindful way through depression helpful.
  • Thanks fivebells.
