Loose

From another thread …

Few things dissipate spiritual perceptions faster than trying to have some control over them.
A spiritual perception is simply a falling away or softening of the ego/identity or selfish self. A spiritual practice is the means we develop to allow it them to freely unfold beyond the limitations of what we have habitually clung to, rejected or otherwise ignored.
The guide to the different kinds of spiritual experiences needs only to say to relate to them meditatively, no differently than you would with any other arising, existing and departing phenomena.

When we begin our practice. We are too hard on ourselves, our practice, others efforts etc. How do we loosen up, as so well described above? Some examples:

  • The breath shows us the nature of our tightness and loosening. Very good indicator.
  • How fluid are our certainties? Are we tight/right or loose …
  • Words can be loose or conflicting … What words are kind, gentle, accepting?

Any other examples?

I would advocate a cold shower and a bit of Wim Hof method breathing to bring the energy. Then after that you do a little ‘just sitting’ and then you see what arises.

The whole of yoga and tai chi is relaxing a tendency to tighten in certain postures or movements. In a similar way we can be wound up by:

    • stress
    • perceived insult
    • need to conform
    • internal looped thought/being

We can take examples from the free:

Often a little exercise can be a good de stressor. Going for a run, or an exercise session.
