Gents Country club. A place where men can talk about mens S**T

edited February 2006 in General Banter
I have started this thread as a reaction to our sisters on Federica thread. It's purpose is to talk about mens stuff. A place where you can grab a chair open a beer or a bottle JD and engage in the not so politically correct world we all secretly live in. However you must keep it a secret... right. What goes on in the thread stays on the thread....ok fella's.

It doesn't have to be about Buddhism all the time and I don't want to talk about Politics all the time either.

Sometimes I thing it's would be good just to talk sport, cars and chics..err girls.

A free beer to the first 10 contrabutions. Brians buying.

Good idea, except that cars and sport bore me senseless.

Ok I can see we are off to a great start. I doesn't have to be car and sports. How girls...
What nationality has the most beautiful women....?
  • edited January 2006
That should read " How about girls". You can see I have had trouble in the past convincing women I have basic literacy.

Well this is all well and good boys, but don't expect us to come in three times a week and pick up the empty beercans, empty the ashtrays, and clear up all the stuff that should be in the laundry basket.....!!

    Federica,
With greatest of respect, I will only say this once. This a Gentleman's thread........Ladies no matter how graceful, attractive ( with the exception of Scarlet Johanson) or smart are simply not allowed.

I wish to point out that we are new men and we can multi task too. Although I personally never use an ashtray, I always use empty beer cans instead.

Being a bit of an oddity in myself I find Icelandic women beautiful hence the sig.

There's something about Irish girls that I find quite appealing (but don't tell Mrs Frizzer!).

Well, isn't that typically "Men's club"... men aren't banned from ours.....
    Boys will be boys....

Is this a unanimous joint decision, or are you being more autocratic than socialist?

I have a preference for Brazilian girls. Those Icelandic girls look pretty.....the down side is that many actually work in the Fishing industry. Fish and chips every night might get a bit...well you know.

    Federica,
Remember..Four legs good....two legs bad. Or was it the other way around ?
This is beginning to prove a theory of mine. Please show some respect for us poor tired gents that wish a little peace and quiet after a tough day at the pit face.
If it makes it easier for you I want you to think of it as a traditional gentleman's club. Fat bald men smoking cigar's and reading the FT.
Not half naked women dancing to "Give me Shelter" whilst pouring Frizzer and myself double vodkas.

A man can dream can't he....?

I do that stuff as it happens. I'm informed that I'm a 'metrosexual' by some around here. Either that or I'm anal, take your pick.

OH gosh yes, by all means! What would life be without the dreams.....,!?

A small and friendly caveat though...
Remember that although the notion or idea of an exclusive gentlemen's corner is both attractive and amusing, there is actually nothing at all to stop anyone exploring the www from coming in here and browsing....
That includes female - and minors....
And we have two or three minors on forum....
And the mere and simple fact that you gentlemen wish to create a 'virtual' retreat fom the cares and constrictions of the outside world, does not exempt anyone from the conditions of posting, content, manners, language and politeness.....

I'm going now, and I won't let the door handle slap me on the way out.....;)

Now attention you all. Hunt4life and I have common ground between us. Federica I say this with the utmost respect, I hope you understand the up and coming importance of this thread. Sometimes men need to sort out their differences in their own way.
I have to admit that Genryu might feel left out one a number of topical issues, however although this looks more like Celebrity Big Brother at the moment, every male is welcome.

    So pull up a chair.........

Taken from Frizzer's guide to wooing the laydeees:

"Offended a young lady? At times like these a chap should seek refuge in the florist. Give her a big bunch of flowers (not in front of her friends though as that will just embarass her) and be prepared to apologise profusely !
This is of course just a generalisation and will not work if she suffers from hay-fever!"

No flowers please - we are platonic people. :(
  • edited January 2006
Personally I'd still resort to flowers even though it's just a platonic relationship, but if it's not suitable just give her some time to calm down and then apologise, say that you know you were being a fool and had overstepped the mark and ask her to forgive you.
    That should work..........maybe.

I was about to put up a very inappropriate image - but I thought, given the title of this thread, it would be okay.

Until I remembered we have little ones running around here.

Dang! Well, I guess I'm forced into following Buddha's "Right Posting" teachings...

My husband has also been called a "metrosexual" many times. He cooks, he cleans, he does my hair (He used to own a salon in Phoenix). And he is also anal - you two would get along great! :)

On here with you - yes, Pamela Anderson can be my favorite female image.

In reality - she's nowhere near it.

My cute little image was of a woman without all the un-neccessary options. And was only tall enough that you could balance a beer on top while watching sports. :)

But to be honest, I don't watch sports either - so... BF is total BS.

Saudis allow women to watch match but will they understand the off side rule..?

Women's rights are limited in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia has agreed to allow women to attend a football match against Sweden, reversing an earlier decision.
On Monday, Saudi authorities had told the Swedish Football Association that a change of stadium meant women could not watch the match in the capital, Riyadh.

But after intervention by Swedish diplomats on Tuesday, the Saudi authorities backed down.

The ban on women spectators had caused upset in Sweden, one of the world's leading nations on gender equality.

The issue arose when the match venue was shifted to a smaller stadium, the Swedish FA's head of communications, Jonas Nystedt, told the BBC.

Sweden's deputy head of mission in Riyadh, Christer Nilsson, met officials at the Saudi Ministry of Information to resolve the problem.

Swedish and Saudi women will now be allowed to attend the match on Wednesday, Mr Nystedt said.

The reason for the change of stadium was not known.

    Speak out

Foreign Minister Laila Freivalds told parliament on Tuesday that it was important for Sweden to speak out clearly on discrimination against women and that this was a "good occasion", the AFP news agency reported.

A May 2005 assessment by international NGO the World Economic Forum placed Sweden highest in the world on gender equality. In parliament, 45% of MPs are women.

Women in Saudi Arabia must be covered from head to toe and stay separate from men. They have traditionally played a very limited role in public life. However they will be given a new option of being to say " Hasn't that Beckham Gezzer got lovely legs".

I don't buy the whole Lucas master plan - 'there were always going to be six episodes' speil. Hence:

Return of the Jedi - Mainly because Lukes realises to not try - only do!
    A new hope
    Empire strikes back
Revenge of the Sith (for Yoda CGI tom-foolery)
    Attack of the Clones

The ONLY thing I liked about Star Wars was:

    Jar Jar Binks
    Those Crazy Cantina fellas
    The Ewok Celebration

Every time I see the Sesame Street-like happiness during the big dance celebration, it brings tears of joy to my eyes.

Or maybe those are tears of pain - I can't remember now.
