Amazing Mirages in China

Believe it or not, the first image of the city you see in the video is a mirage.

I actually was skeptical of the video at first. I ended up googling "mirage" and apparently things like this aren't common, but they do happen when the conditions are right.

    What is this phenomena . Why do these mirages appear . Where does it come from ? Is it some kind of illusion that occur naturally ? A glitch in the matrix ? lol.

    It's called a "superior mirage". Most of the mirages we see are considered "inferior", but when the conditions are just right superior mirages can appear.

    What's confusing? Optical illusions happen all the time. Mirages are rare. Superior Mirages are very rare. Superior Mirages like the ones in the videos are so rare that they only happen in certain parts of the world during certain seasons.

    I've watched these videos many times and I'm still in awe of how much detail is reflected in these mirages!
