This story is amazing... I find it so... just... wow. This is fantastic.
And, hypothetically, this could and possibly is true.
Maybe not in the way it is explained in the story, but we are all interconnected.

And people think there's nothing good about 4chan!
  • @MindGate Are you sure you didn't make this up yourself, to provoke another rebirth debate? ;) You do have a creative streak.

Nice piece. I don't want to go back in time, though, for the next rebirth. On the other hand , maybe it wouldn't make any difference. I wouldn't be conscious of it. hm. Thought-provoking
  • I disagree with it somewhat. But it was a fantastic read. I shared it on my facebook.
  • I liked it. I read it earlier, then went food shopping. It was a bit weird looking at all the other shoppers, thinking they were 'me'. Made me feel a bit fluffy inside.

    Nice!

Great picture in the corner of the article to illustrate it too

It makes me think about empathy - when you feel genuinely sad when something bad happens to someone else, and happy when something good happens to someone else; as if it were your own experience....and maybe it is your experience as much as the 'other persons'.....
  • very nice, thank you :)

    should go a bit further

if you didn't look at those shoppers (didn't see them) would they be there?

could they be in your mind now?

if they are in your mind now, where exactly were they before?

so who are they (the shoppers?)
someone within 'you' or outside 'you'

This is true in a physical way. Our bodies are made of approximately 60% water. The water that is part of your body right now was part of someone else before. Water comes and goes through all of history. 60% of you at one time was snow on Mt. Everest, waves of the Mediterranean, grass on the high plains, Shakespeare, Einstein, Hitler and Jesus, saints and sinners, judges and thieves, redwood trees and crocodile turds. You and me.
  • cool, im god
  • So what.
  • you are me

    Goo goo g'joob
  • you are me
Until it's just theory it might as well be faux.
  • Check out One by Richard Bach for a full length novel that explores this idea in greater depth.
