(maybe i should make my Spock look a little older, eh?)
Not long ago I read the book The Mutant Message. I thought it was interesting that the Aborigines do not celebrate their birthdays. They consider them nothing special because everyone is born and has a birthday.
What I thought was great tho was that they do celebrate what they call "Better Day".
You have a celebration when you tell ppl you want to celebrate because you think you have become a better person. Only you can pick the day because only you know if you have become "better". You have them as often as you feel you have improved yourself.
anyway, thought this was kind of a cool thing and thought I'd share it......
by the way...........Mutant Message is a wonderful book if anyone would like to read it.....I thought it was awesome!
I really like that idea, Deb. Or ideas, I should say. Must read that book. Thanks for the recommendation. (That's the very first time I've ever written the word 'recommendation' without messing up the spelling. I've finally got it! Yaaayy!! I should have a party now. You're all invited.:D)
I think it goes along with the whole idea that we are hopefully becoming better and wiser people as time goes on. This current fear of looking and acting older is so silly.
Happy Birthday, Knight of Buddha! :birthday: :bigclap:
One more teenage year! Play it safe and have some fun with the distractions. As long as you're gonna be distracted a bit anyhow, you might as well get something out of it.
We really do have to send more birthday greetings here. I believe the one who plants the 1000th greeting on this thread gets one of those beautiful, unearthily pure white lotuses from Federica. I've thought about posting 500 greetings in one day, but I'm afraid Fede might take my visiting privileges away from me if WHEN I do.
Many, Many Happy, Healthy, and Enlightened Years, HARLAN!
