I am soon to attend my first temple visit. I am almost 100% positive there will be chanting involved. What chants should I know?!?! (I don't know any) Please help! Thanks :eek2:

They should have a copy of whatever they are chanting for you to follow along if you ask. If they don't just sitting and listening is fine.
  • Are chants usually in Indian? I only speak English so just wondering. Thank you btw! :)

It depends on which temple you go to...
Are you talking about Pali or Sanskrit?
  • If you go onto Buddhanet their is a Chants section which deals with many forms of Chanting. Some books are even supplied to be downloaded. Hope this helps? Cheers

When I attend Tibetan monasteries the pronunciations are spelled out phoenetically in english. Not sure if thats true everywhere.
  • Ok, well thank you!
  • Granted we do not have any temples where I currently live, but MOST of the chanting that we have done has been in english.
